Beauty!
Over the past two years, this word has officially become my favorite word in the dictionary – after therapy, beard, and reparations.
My love for all things beauty continues to grow so you can only imagine my excitement (and hysteria) when I found out that the Beauty Revolution Festival was officially hitting South African shores.
What is the festival about?
A two-day festival that was solely created for beauty-lovers of all shapes and sizes; be it, beginners, advanced face-beaters and experienced highlighters. Taking place on 6 & 7 April at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, the festival will showcase the best of the best from the beauty world, with influencers and panelists taking to the stage to speak on all things beauty.
The festival has also partnered with brands such as Foschini, Unlocked.Me by Nedbank and YFM – all of which focus on celebrating inclusive and diverse beauty with a purpose.

Aside from the latest brands giving sharing their beauty tips, attendees will also be treated to the continent’s best beauty influencers and makeup artists. These lovely palette magicians will be giving out makeup tips and some of them will even serve as panelists, taking the stage on topics they love.
Thando Hopa, Thickleyonce, Pearl Thusi, and Leanne Dlamini are all set to serve as panelists, whereas the beauty masterclasses are set to be taught by the likes of Lwazi Blose Cele, Mihlalii Ndamase and Marco Louis (Senior Artist for Mac Cosmetics Africa).
In addition to the quality beauty advice, you’re set to receive, a large collection of renowned panelists from the beauty and media industries will also chat about societal issues. This includes the prejudice they face as women in business and women of color.
Be it starting a beauty business, issues of representation and colorism in the media or learning about body positivity and the art of self-care – the festival is set to examine just how skin-deep beauty can really be.
It’s a party!
In addition to welcoming the biggest brands and hottest influencers, the Beauty Revolution Festival is also hosting a social lounge and full entertainment space. There will be bars by Tanqueray and Red Bull as well as amazing DJs and special performances by the beautiful and talented Boity.
