Coachella has always been on my bucket list. And no, it’s not because I want to wear a flower crown, daisy dukes, and cowboy boots. A music festival featuring all my favourite artists over a summer weekend sounds like literal heaven, and that’s exactly what Joburg’s new three-day music and lifestyle festival, HEY NEIGHBOUR, is offering.
HeyNeighbour, Let’s Party
From the same team that’s bringing us Tamia and Boyz II Men, Glen21 Entertainment bring us a three-day festival for music and lifestyle lovers that’s sure to make waves this December in Pretoria with a line-up that’s straight out of my Spotify playlist.
The Neighbourhood Line-Up
On day one of the three day festival, we have none other than The Chainsmokers, who are sure to get us off to a great start with their hits like Something Just Like This and Closer.
Alongside them will be one of my favourite new age RnB artists, Khalid. The 25-year-old year old, whose hits include Young, Dumb and Broke and Better, will be hitting the stage on day 1 and I can absolutely not wait.
But wait, there’s more!
SZA is a great artist and her music is really good, but I’ve just never been able to get into it. But that doesn’t mean that I haven’t listened to another three-lettered artist. While everyone around me was getting lost in SZA, I was falling for H.E.R.
The soulful Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, professionally known as H.E.R is my number one new-age RnB artist (followed closely by Summer Walker), and I am ridiculously excited to get the chance to hear her soulful voice when she takes the Hey Neighbour stage on day 3 of the festival.
However, if you’re not a fan of soulful RnB and are in the mood for something more uptempo, then don’t you worry child because day 3 will also offer none other than the chart-busting house music legends, Swedish House Mafia!
