REMA Lights Up Hey Neighbour Festival in Explosive Phase Three Line-Up!

If you thought that Hey Neighbour was done adding incredible artists to its festival line-up, then I have some news for you. The festival’s third-phase line-up features a combination of the country’s biggest current exports, African legends, and more sensational international talent.

Hey Neighbour Phase Three Line-Up Brings REMA

Joining the already toasty Neighbourhood is international hitmaker, jam-provider and recent MTV Video Music Award Winner REMA.

Ever since he was introduced to the world in March 2019, with the release of his self-titled debut EP, and the global hits “Corny” and “Iron Man” which featured on Barack Obama’s Summer Playlist, Rema has fast become one of the most exciting stars in global music.

With his debut EP being remembered for defining a new era for African pop, the 23-year-old has inspired multiple mentions in global publications and platforms, including features in Pitchfork and Rolling Stones, which listed “Iron Man” among its best 50 songs of 2019.

As local is lekker, the Hey Neighbour line-up also includes South African acts:

  • Mafikizolo
  • Prime Circle
  • Zakes Bantwini
  • Black Motion
  • Desmond and the Tutus
  • Mörda
  • Kelvin Momo
  • DJ Zinhle having the decks on lock alongside curated live performances from Sho Madjozi, Elaine and Jamie-Lee Sexton

… but that’s not all Neighbours!

For the hip-hop heads, BLXCKIE, Youngsta CPT and A-REECE will hold it down alongside newcomer Real Dan Duminy and Uncle Partytime on the ones and twos. Representing one of the biggest trending genres around the world, Amapiano royalty TXC, Daliwonga, Young Stunna, Tyler ICU and Major League will be repping for the Yanos generation.

UK Rock superstars Nothing But Thieves have also been confirmed along with thriving local alternative acts Majozi, Jeremy Loops, Monark, Max Hurrell and the Plastics.

Hey Neighbour also sees a set of incredible brand partners joining the Hood, including Netflix, Axe, KitKat, Coke Studio and Play, as well as Heineken® taking the spotlight as the headlining partner for Hey Neighbour’s eagerly awaited Festival!
