Janet Jackson: Join The Rhythm Nation At DSTV Delicious 2024

DSTV Delicious reminds us why black women invented music by bringing our favourite Jackson and the queen of RnB Neo-Soul to headline their 2024 festival. That’s right, Grammy winners and co-stars Janet Jackson and Jill Scott are set to headline the music festival in September.

Janet Jackson and Jill Scott Headline DSTV Delicious Festival

DSTV Delicious is all about providing good music and a vibrant atmosphere. They proved this last year when they had Tems and Maxwell headlining the festivities. So, it’s not a surprise that they’re looking to maintain this momentum by having the incredible and gorgeous Janet Jackson headline the first day of the festival.

On the heels of her record-breaking world tour, Ms. Jackson is the definition of a musical icon. While the X timeline is filled with conversations about who mother is, the reality is that your favourite millennial superstars are actually her daughters.

Alongside her Why Did I Get Married co-star is Jill Scott, will is already familiar with South Africa. Having cemented herself as one of the cornerstones of soulful RnB with songs like Golden, and It’s Love, the September crowd should expect nothing short of a soulful and melodic performance.

30 Years Of Creative Freedom

As exciting as the inclusion of international stars is, The DStv Delicious Fest also serves to platform some of South Africa’s greatest exports. To celebrate 30 years of creative freedom in South Africa, the Saturday stage is to be taken over by Boom Shaka, Cassper Nyovest, Focalistic, Khuli Chana, Maggz, Morafe, Okmalumkoolkat, Reason, Robot Boii and Touchline.

“We are thrilled to be returning with a very special commemorative festival to celebrate 30 years of creative freedom in South Africa,” – Tom Pearson-Adams and Lloyd Cornwall, DSTV Delicious festival co-founders

Thandiswa Mazwai, Oskido, G-Force, Mzwakhe Mbuli, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, Jesse Clegg and Zolani Mahola are also expected on the stage Saturday.

With such a strong line-up for Saturday, what can the Sundays are for lovers crowd expect? Well, in addition to Jill Scott’s crooning, Sjava, Soweto Gospel Choir, The Maestro (aka Greg Maloka) and Oskido are set to take the stage and round off a weekend that’s to become an unforgettable experience.
