Cementing one of the most entertaining seasons in Showmax reality history will be renowned journalist and talk show host Shahan Ramkissoon. The Lenyora Gin owner is set to host the highly anticipated reunion special of The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice, premiering on Showmax on 31 October 2024.
Sugar & Spice Mommies Reveal All
The second installment of a franchise that began with The Mommy Club, The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice is produced by POP24. The show offers an exclusive glimpse into the lives of glamorous mothers from Durban’s Indian community.
Aside from the peek into their cultural dynamics, I also appreciate their showcasing of glamour and opulence, which the Johannesburg show often lacked. Additionally, most of the mommies, which includes Abigail Nepaul (41), Asharia Parsad (27), Christina Devraj (26), Devina Kowlas (43), Kim Jones (33), Lenore Goss-Matjie (45), Neetasha Singh Bugwandin (36), and twins Losh and Resh Naidoo (45), are managing personal empires, and the show reveals how they balance this alongside their nurturing of the next generation.

This groundbreaking reality show is a first-of-its-kind reality series that highlights the Indian community in South Africa. Ramkissoon is prepared to tackle the pressing themes and challenging conversations that arise.

The intense, upcoming season finale, set to air tomorrow, will feature a gripping exchange between Lenore and the twins. Given the level of tension we have yet to see, it remains uncertain whether their relationship will ever recover by the time the reunion rolls around.
“My approach will be authentic; I’m not here to be polished or scripted. I’m here to be honest about what these women have experienced, what they’ve said, and what they’ve done on screen.”
Ramkissoon adds that he wants to dive into the mummies stories. He’s looking to analyze their interactions, and explore the fascinating dynamics, especially those that challenge traditional perceptions within the Indian community.
