Last December, promotions for a new festival started making the rounds on social media, with one of my favourite RnB princesses Summer Walker being advertised as the headliner. However, the Grammy nominee eventually took to social media and debunked the news, writing:
“I was not booked to be at “tomorrow can wait fest” it’s fake but I cant wait to come to South Africa forreal.”
That said, promoters for Rocking The Daisies Festival saw the reaction to that because now, the 28-year-old is set to headline the festival this October.
Summer Walker to Headline 2025 Rocking The Daisies
Rocking the Daisies is South Africa’s premier music and lifestyle festival. With the announcement of Summer Walker, it’s clear that they’re gearing up for a monumental celebration as it marks its 20th year! This milestone event, happening 2-5 October, promises the ultimate festival experience, featuring the best of the best: A huge line-up, the best vibes, dreamlike décor, only the best cape food, local fashion, immersive art, revitalising wellness activities, and incredible camping options.
Speaking of the line-up, I’ve been A huge fan of the new RnB girls, ranging from HER, to Ari Lennox, to Summer Walker, so I’m so excited to see her on the Rocking The Daisies stage in Cape Town.
Breaking out onto the music scene in 2018 with her EP, the Last Day of Summer in 2018, the Atlanta-born singer-songwriter has captivated audiences with her raw storytelling, personal lyrics, sultry vocals, and unapologetic authenticity. Her debut studio album Over It, shattered records, while its follow-up, and one of my favourite albums of all time, Still Over It, worked to reinforce me as her fan and her status as a genre-defining artist.
Walker’s ability to blend neo-soul and modern R&B while delving into love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, has resonated deeply with fans worldwide. As such, this October, we can expect an unforgettable performance filled with the love, beauty, and rawness of an R&B powerhouse.
