Joining a reality show, especially one part of an international franchise currently in its fifth season, is no easy feat. The latest season of the Real Housewives of Durban brings back Nonku Williams, Sorisha Naidoo, Jojo Robinson and Angel Ndlela. This season has also introduced Ayanda Mthembu, Kwanele Kubheka, and Lo Sithole. The latest episode shows that Sithole is not afraid to make a splash during her first season, even if it means calling out an OG.
Lo Sithole: A Real Pastor Meets Housewives
A 40-year-old pastor’s wife with strong traditional values, Sithole co-owns the Industrial Training Centre in Pinetown, where she helps run an artisan training school. Granted, the Real Housewives of Durban may not be the conventional platform for a pastor’s wife. Yet, she viewed joining the show as a life-changing experience and an opportunity to offer audiences an authentic glimpse into the life of a pastor’s wife,
“I wanted to inspire young women in Christianity, showing them that life is still enjoyable and full of joy, even with Christ. I aimed to demonstrate that life can be lived to the fullest, regardless of my position in the church. My main goal is to remain true to myself, proving that you can be focused, determined, and still enjoy life’s blessings.”
As for how she compares with the other women on the show, Sithole quips that she brings a fun-filled and calm aura to the show,
“I offer many life lessons and provide a glimpse into the life of a hardworking pastor’s wife – one who is not only God-fearing but also a loving mom and a professional woman.”
Faith and Fights
While watching the show is quite enjoyable, the latest episode showed the pastor’s wife that being part of it is a different experience, as she clashed with RHOD original Nonku Williams.
“Being a cast member is an entirely different experience,” she explains. “It comes with its own set of pressures, preparations, and the challenge of meeting new people. You need to consider the views and opinions of others.”
That said, she reveals that her relationship with the rest of the cast has “evolved into an incredible friendship, and ultimately, a sisterhood.”
Watch and Be Blessed
If you needed any more reason to watch the show, Sithole shares that the latest season provides viewers with so much to learn, adding that she uses the platform to break certain stereotypes that people may hold about pastorship,
“Watching the show will help people realise that pastorship is not just a title; it’s a lifestyle we live every day.”
