Black Coffee Brings Local Flavour To The Hey Neighbour Decks

Alongside Doja Cat’s homecoming at this year’s Hey Neighbour festival, the organisers are reminding us that local is lekker by announcing that DJ Black Coffee is also taking over the Day 2 stage. Also, yes, he’s bringing some of his friends to perform live alongside him. From Ibiza to Coachella to right here at home, the global icon has joined the Neighbourhood to remind us why no one does it like SA and why he and Doja are leading the pack.

Black Coffee Takes Main Stage in Neighbourhood

As one of South Africa’s most celebrated DJs, producers, and cultural ambassadors, Black Coffee is globally recognized for his signature Afro-house style, which melds African rhythms, deep house, soul, and jazz-infused minimalism. In addition to being the biggest party in the neighbourhood, Black Coffee has also headlined festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra, and holds residencies in Ibiza and Las Vegas.

Additionally, as he’s collaborated with artists like Drake, Alicia Keys, Usher, David Guetta, Pharrell Williams, and Diplo, and even executive-produced Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind album, could we see a South African collaboration between him and Doja Cat?

In addition to Black Coffee, Hey Neighbour has announced a slew of acts that include:

  • Elaine – R&B royalty with velvet vocals and heartbreak hits
  • Akio – Culture curator and DJ-extraordinaire, bringing all the vibes
  • DJ Nkosh – Afro-house beast with a set that’ll move your soul (and your feet)
  • DJ Lochive – Fresh sound explorer pushing deep, danceable energy
  • Muzi – The Zulu Skywalker, fusing tradition with futuristic bounce
  • Holly Rey – House music’s golden girl bringing the heat and the heart
  • Khuli Chana – Motswako’s finest, still running the game with pure fire
  • Tortured Soul – Soulful, jazzy, deep house grooves that’ll keep you locked in
  • Nia Pearl – Amapiano angel with vocals smoother than your weekend plans
  • Sun-EL Musician – Afro-electronic magic. Every beat is a spiritual experience
  • Lulo Cafe – A deep house OG serving nothing but timeless feels
  • DJ Lag – Regarded as one of the pioneers of Gqom, he is a DJ and record producer
  • Adillah – SA’s own “go-to girl for all things wavy DJ

And yes, this is just the day two local line-up for now.
