Married Themba Khosa Chats Being Married (Again) On Married At First Sight Mzansi

While lobola plays a crucial role in customary marriages in South Africa, and it is recognised as prima facie evidence of a valid customary marriage, it alone is not enough to constitute a legal marriage. For instance, you’ll need to send a letter. Except that is exactly what Themba Khosa did, amongst other things, before making his way to Showmax’s Married at First Sight South Africa, despite being, well, allegedly already married.

Married Man Themba Khosa Speaks Married At First Sight Mzansi

Married at First Sight South Africa has been one of the most talked-about shows in the country, after having four couples get married immediately upon meeting. For 12 weeks straight, it’s been trending on social media, and viewers can’t seem to get enough of the drama.

The show followed Palesa Mphaki and Tshepo Miya, Makoto Phumodi and Nkuleleko Mahlangu, Themba Khosa and Nelisa Ntabeni, and Portia Baloyi and Bongani Luvalo, navigating married life in real time. Next week’s recommitment ceremony will air on Sunday, 28 September at 5:30 PM on Mzansi Magic, and streaming on Showmax.

The latest episode unveiled the cracks Themba Khosa and Nelisa Ntabeni’s marriage by revealing a truth – a truth that Themba conveniently took to social media to discuss before the episode aired -that put their marriage to the ultimate test.

An Upgrade?

Now, despite taking a family trip with his children and the mother of his children a week before he joined the show, Khosa shares that he joined Married At First South Africa because he was genuinely ready to settle down.

“I’ve been through enough in life to know what I want, and I thought this could be a real way to find someone who matches me. I know it sounds wild to marry a stranger, but I came in with an open heart.”

After taking time to reflect on who he was as a person and what he brings into co-current relationships, Khosa vowed to be honest with himself when entering the experiment so that he could really immerse himself in the experience.

In doing so, he was blessed with a beautiful and incredibly understanding partner in the form of Nelisa Ntabeni,

“She looked stunning [when I first saw her]…You’ve got all these nerves, and then boom, there she is walking down the aisle. I thought she looked really beautiful.”

Moreover, despite the frigid first meeting between his new wife and the mother of his children in the latest episode, Khosa shares that his kids and wife have a healthy and loving relationship. This is in despite not spending a lot of time together.

“I can see a happy family in the future.”

Reunion Ready

As a self-proclaimed DJ, Khosa definitely knows how to work the audience, but he admits that watching himself has been quite cringe at times, but there were moments where he was proud of how he handled things.

Now, considering that he has plenty to answer for at the upcoming reunion, Khosa admits that he’s taking time to reflect and process everything, including being confronted for his disingenuous behaviour off camera,

“I want to come into that space calm, respectful, and ready to own my part. It’s not about defending myself, it’s about telling my truth and hearing others out too.”

Married At First Sight Mzansi Season 2 currently airs exclusively on Showmax, with new episodes released every Sunday evening.

The reunion may be two weeks away, but that doesn’t mean that the drama is over. Khosa shares that there’s still so much that happens, including real challenges and real emotions,

“People will see how things shift and grow. And trust me, the reunion is going to be something else.”
