Streaming on Showmax for the past two weeks, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa, set in Rio, Brazil, has become one of the most talked-about reality shows in Africa. Packed with some of the continent’s most entertaining, the show features The Real Housewives of Durban’s Angel Ndlela, who, despite being the youngest on the cast, brings her familiar glamour and attitude.
The Youngest Housewife Making the Biggest Impact: Angel Ndlela on RHUGT Africa
Despite being selected for The Real Housewives of Durban, audiences have had doubts about how well Ndlela fits in with the other affluent women. With that, when she received the call to join the biggest girls’ trip in Africa, she shed tears of joy,
“Not that I’ve ever needed validation, but this was a stamp that I definitely belong in the world of Housewives.”
Making a promise to herself to enjoy the experience to the fullest, Ndlela adds that she owed it to herself to showcase her true personality and was eager to see how compatible it was with the rest of the cast.
Angel Bonds
Joining Ndlela in Rio are her Real Housewives of Durban costars Annie Mthembu and Jojo Robinson, as well as Johannesburg OGs Christall Kay and Evodia Mogase. From further up the continent, we have Nairobi’s Dr Catherine Masitsa and Zena Nyambu add their own style and sophistication, while Princess Jecoco from Abuja and Mariam Timmer from Lagos bring the unmistakable Nigerian heat.
While she remains mum on any off-screen drama amongst the ladies, she does reveal that Nairobi’s Dr C is much nicer and more mature off-camera, “I don’t know what happens when the cameras go on,” she adds.
As for the friendships on the show, Ndlela says that the trip allowed her and her RHOD co-star Jojo Robinson to grow their sisterhood, despite their little tiff in the latest episode. She also gravitated towards Jecoco’s energy.

While being one of the youngest women on the cast has its own challenges, Ndlela reveals that the experience has shown her how strong, resilient, and funny she is,
“It has taught me that if you do not conform to the box they want to confine you in, people resort to cruelty, which again taught me that I can take it. I am strong like that.”
