Calabash 2026 is A Millennial Rock Fest

Growing up, one of the music festivals that I dreamed of attending was the Vans Warped Tour. A touring rock music festival, this festival was the ultimate emo playlist, featuring bands like Paramore, Simple Plan, Linkin Park, All Time Low, and Pierce The Veil. Unfortunately, I’m still waiting for the opportunity to attend this incredible festival. However, Calabash isn’t letting my dreams die as they’ve just announced their lineup for 2026, and it’s a millennial rock fan’s dream featuring acts like Simple Plan and A Day To Remember while having Muse as headliners.

Muse, Simple Plan, A Day To Remember to Rock SA at Calabash 2026

A Grammy-winning British rock band, the trio is well known for their cinematic fusion of alternative rock, electronics, and symphonic elements.

Now while they’re responsible for the greatest scene out of the Twilight film series, Muse, which includes Matthew Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard, continue to deliver incredible music with albums like Origin of Symmetry, Black Holes and Revelations, and The Resistance.

Alongside the British trio is a band I’ve loved since I heard Welcome to My Life for the first time.

With their high-energy anthems and emotionally honest songwriting, Canadian pop-punk band Simple Plan helped define a generation of pop-punk anthems. Whether it’s their catchy hooks, spirited performances, and impressive catalogue, we can guarantee that Simple Plan will give us a hell of a show.

In addition to the two bands, A Day To Remember and Nothing but Thieves are also set to take over the Calabash stage, with the latter returning to South Africa for the first time since their performance at Hey Neighbour.

Not to be left out of the fun, one of South Africa’s most popular rock band’s Prime Circle, is also set to take the stage.
