J. Cole Returns to South Africa With The Fall-Off Tour

Following up on his latest album, The Fall Off, which topped the Billboard 200, J. Cole announced he’s taking The Fall Off Tour on the road, and he’s bringing the show to South Africa. Considering that it’s his first solo headline tour in five years and his first global tour in almost a decade, the North Carolina-bred rapper is sure to bring the vibes to his South African audience.

J. Cole Brings The Fall-Off Tour to South Africa

J. Cole’s last performance in South Africa was in 2016, at the extremely missed Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg for the Castle Lite Unlocks concert, and he previously gave an almost lackluster performance at the Big Brother Africa opening ceremony in 2012.

Since he was last here in 2016, the ‘Middle Child’ rapper released albums that cemented his legacy in the industry, and they included 4 Your Eyez Only (2016), KOD (2018), and The Off-Season (2021). In addition to adding two Grammys to his legacy, Cole also launched his own Dreamville Festival, named after his record label, Dreamville Records, which he founded in 2007 with his manager, Ibrahim Hamad.

However, outside of his music, Cole isn’t free of controversy as he found himself swept up in one of the greatest hip-hop rivalries in recent years. As tensions flared between Grammy winner and Superbowl Halftime-performer Kendrick Lamar and Drake, Cole briefly entered the feud but soon chose to exit it apologize for escalating the moment – an unusual move in the rap industry, but nonetheless, the moment reinforced his image as an artist focused more on music and craft and less on controversy.
