DSTV Delicious 2024: Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo Replace Janet Jackson as Headliners

As previously mentioned, Janet Jackson is no longer headlining the DStv Delicious Festival Powered by LottoStar due to pressing family commitments following the recent passing of her brother, Tito Jackson. We all send our deepest condolences and support to Janet and her family during this time of mourning.
In lieu of that, the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar festival team announced Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo as the new headliners for the Saturday show of the 2024 festival.

Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo Co-Headline DSTV Delicious 2024

Following recent changes to the festival lineup, including Janet Jackson’s withdrawal due to her brother Tito Jackson’s recent passing, the Festival organisers have worked tirelessly to ensure the experience remains extraordinary for fans.

With Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo set to bring their legendary hip-hop and pop energy to the stage on Saturday, 21 September, fans can expect unforgettable performances from these incredibly celebrated artists.

A legitimate hip-hop legend and figurehead, thanks in part to his rapid-fire lyrical delivery and electrifying performances, Busta Rhymes’s credentials include 12 Grammy nominations and multiple Platinum albums. With hits like “Touch It,” “Break Ya Neck,” and “I Know What You Want,”, Busta is known for his energetic flow and unique style. Having collaborated with major artists such as Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson, Busta’s influence spans decades, and his ability to stay relevant across generations cements his status as one of hip-hop’s most dynamic performers.

Jason Derulo is an international pop sensation known for his infectious hits and impressive stage presence, and he’s also one of my teenage crushes.

With over 200 million records sold worldwide and multiple Platinum-certified singles, Jason has dominated the charts since his 2009 debut with “Whatcha Say”, and has since started every song letting listeners know who’s singing the song.

Known for his smooth vocals, impeccable dance moves, and global hits like “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle,” and “Savage Love,” Derulo has become a household name.

A Delicious Weekend

With her newly released album, Sankofa, Thandiswa Mazwai is still set to bless the stage on Saturday, 21 September. International Grammy Award-winning music superstar Jill Scott will still headline the Sunday, 22 September show alongside leading local headliners such as Sjava and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

Alongside these significant acts, this year’s DStv Delicious Festival will feature the 30 Years of Creative Freedom Tribute Show presented by the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture. The show will honor iconic South African musicians whose contributions to the arts have shaped South Africa’s soundscape.

In addition to the world-class music lineup, the Proudly South African Delicious Mile will be a culinary adventure for food lovers. Festival-goers can enjoy gourmet offerings from renowned local and international food trucks and stalls, including DimsumFest, Tiger’s Milk, Daruma by Oskido, Buns & Bowls, La Mama, and The Gourmet Shrine, among many others. Whether it’s a classic burger, mouth-watering pizza, or local favourites, there’s something for everyone.

What about refunds?

Granted, a lot of people were hoping to see Janet Jackson, and they may not be interested in the newly announced acts. Festival organizers understand the concerns around ticket changes and are working hard to ensure a smooth experience for all festival-goers. The official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, handles all ticket-related queries and according to their purchase policy, refunds are not offered for events that proceed as scheduled. However, you are encouraged to review their policy for more details regarding any specific conditions that may apply. You can find more information on refunds and exchanges here.

Also, festival-goers who have opted to exchange their Saturday tickets for Sunday tickets will unfortunately not be able to exchange them back for Saturday should they wish to do so.
