They say the first stage of grief is denial.

The fairy tales lied.

I hated how the chocolate treats would melt in her mouth while I had to choke on the ashes of what never was.

I tried to fix a man, yet I was the one who was broken.

Perhaps it was decided that you would be the stranger amongst friends.
