What is it about boybands that’s so appealing? Is it their lyrics? Their moves? Or maybe it’s just the idea of four-to-five attractive men being able to simultaneously carry a tune? Whatever the answer is, I love my boybands and so imagine my excitement when I heard that Westlife, also known as the most successful Irish boyband, was coming to South Africa.
Westlife To Serenade South Africa
The pop group, which was formed in 1998 and signed by Simon Cowell, consists of Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Shane Filan and Mark Feehily. They originally shot to fame the following year with their debut self-titled album Westlife. The album, which consists of some of their biggest hits, “Fool Again”, “Swear It Again” and “If I Let You Go”, propelled the quartet to superstardom and their debut album’s success was followed by records that gave us hits like “Bop Bop Baby“, “My Love” and “Flying Without Wings”
